Please be advised that due to construction activities related to the City of Newburgh’s North Interceptor Sewer project, Washington Street will be closed to all vehicular traffic in the area between Water Street (Marine Drive) and Colden Street/Washington Place starting at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2023.
Please also be advised that the City has reopened Second Street in the area between Water Street (Marine Drive) and Montgomery Street, and has also reopened South William Street in the area between Water Street (Marine Drive) and Liberty Street.
Vehicles are advised to follow detour signs, use alternate routes and allow for additional travel time due to construction delays. All local businesses will be open and accessible during this temporary road closure and detour.
Visitors seeking to access the Newburgh Brewery can access the Brewery by taking South William Street to Colden Street and use the parking area on Lafayette Street. Visitors seeking to access Liberty Street can travel on South William Street to Liberty Street. Properties located along the south end of Grand Street, and along Washington Street west of the closure at Colden Street, can continue to access Grand Street and Washington Street from the west at the intersection of Liberty Street and Washington Street.
The City of Newburgh appreciates the public’s patience during completion of this infrastructure improvement project.
