The City of Newburgh is seeking volunteers to serve on the Planning Board to fill two alternate member vacancies. Individuals interested in volunteering must apply by February 7, 2023.
The Planning Board oversees subdivision, site plan and special use permit approvals throughout the City of Newburgh in an effort to ensure compliance with the Zoning Code, to evaluate and mitigate environmental impacts of proposed development, and to provide for orderly growth pursuant to the City of Newburgh Master Plan.
The Planning Board meets in-person on the third Tuesday of every month at 7:30 p.m. in the Activity Center, 401 Washington Street, Newburgh, NY 12550. Appointment to the Planning Board is by the City Manager. Appointed individuals will fill the remaining portion of any unexpired term or a full term of two years from and after the expiration of the terms of their predecessors in office.

Paper copies of the application are available in the office of the City Clerk at 83 Broadway, Newburgh, NY 12550. Applicants may submit a letter of intent in lieu of an application. The letter of intent must contain answers to the questions found in the application available online or in the office of the City Clerk.
All applications not completed and submitted online through the City’s website and all letters of intent must be returned via regular mail or by hand delivery to the City of Newburgh Executive Office, attn: City Manager, 83 Broadway, Newburgh, NY 12550 or via e-mail to Boards@cityofnewburgh-ny.gov
