[ARCHIVED] POLICE COMMISSIONER JOSÉ A. GOMÉREZ PROVIDES COMMUNITY UPDATE ON ENHANCED LAW ENFORCEMENT PRESENCE

Police Department Logo

On the evening of November 30th, the FBI’s Hudson Valley Safe Streets Task Force, supported by the City of Newburgh Police Department, executed several warrants that resulted in the arrest of fourteen individuals charged under a 10-Count federal indictment with crimes ranging from racketeering to attempted murder.

“When I became Commissioner, I made a promise that we would address gun violence head-on, and one of my first acts was to re-engage the FBI’s Hudson Valley Safe Streets Task Force.  Today marks another step forward in delivering on that promise. We will not rest until every corner of our City belongs to the community, not the criminals. I extend my sincere gratitude to Damian Williams, United States Attorney for the Southern District; Michael J. Driscoll, Assistant Director in Charge of the New York Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation; and New York State Governor Kathy Hochul, for their partnership and commitment to the City of Newburgh.”

More information on this operation can be found in the press release issued by the United States Department of Justice.
