City of Newburgh Announces Fall 2022 Recreation Programs

NEWBURGH, NY – The City of Newburgh is pleased to announce several Recreation Department programs launching this fall. The programs are designed to promote cognitive development, improve coordination, expand social skills, and instill respect, responsibility and sportsmanship.

The following is a list of program offerings being made available to City of Newburgh residents for a nominal fee this fall:

Sit and Paint Sessions
The Sit and Paint sessions are a new children’s recreational activity beginning on September 17, 2022. Bring your child to one of the four sessions to relax and paint to your hearts content. The sessions will be held at the Activity Center, 401 Washington Street, Newburgh, NY 12550. Contact Goldie Mercado at 845-569-7379 for more information.

Fall Indoor Soccer Program
The indoor soccer program begins on Monday, September 19, 2022, and is open to children ages 3-7. The Indoor Soccer program will introduce children to soccer and provides opportunities to develop their soccer potential in a fun filled environment at the Heritage Middle School Gym, 405 Union Avenue, New Windsor, NY 12553. Fall Youth Basketball Program
This six-week basketball program launches on Tuesday, September 20, 2022. It provides children ages 5-10 the chance to learn basketball skills at the South Middle School Gym, 33-63 Monument Street, Newburgh, NY 12550. Contact Michael Tetrault at 845-569-7374 for more information.

Fall Youth Baseball Clinics
The City will be launching a continuation of the Youth Baseball Clinics starting Wednesday, September 21, 2022. This six-week program provides children ages 5-10 the chance to learn the fundamentals of baseball at the Activity Center, 401 Washington Street, Newburgh, NY 12550.
