The Water Department’s Annual Water Quality Report has been issued and is available for review. A Spanish and French Creole version of the report is also available.
The report covers testing performed between January 1 and December 31, 2020, and highlights important health information, water conservation tips, facility modifications, source water assessments and affirms the Water Department’s commitment to deliver the best-quality drinking water possible.
Water treatment is a complex process, and our water is monitored on a very strict sampling schedule. To ensure our water is clean and safe prior to distribution, the city's water filtration plant employs a series of mechanical and chemical treatments to remove color, odor and taste, along with organic material, dirt and particles. The plant has the ability to treat approximately 8.85 million gallons of water per day, more than twice the average daily consumption rate.
The report can be found on the Water Department’s Water Quality Reports webpage. For more information or inquiries about the report, please contact the Water Department at 845-565-3356.
