Strategic Economic Development Advisory Committee Seeks New Members

The Mayor’s Strategic Economic Development Advisory Committee (SEDAC) is seeking three new committee members! City of Newburgh residents or City of Newburgh business owners interested in joining, must submit an application by May 29.

SEDAC is a volunteer, community-led, advisory board of residents, business owners, community leaders, and stakeholders tasked with analyzing, reviewing and advising the City Council on economic development opportunities that are effective, inclusive, and equitable. The group is committed to prioritizing strategies, projects and programs that encourage economic and community development throughout the City of Newburgh. SEDAC is seeking individuals of diverse backgrounds who are community members, business owners, and stakeholders that have a strong dedication to the City of Newburgh.

SEDAC meets approximately once a month, with specific meeting times determined by member availability, at 83 Broadway, Newburgh, NY 12550. Members are appointed by the Mayor in consultation with the City Council and serve at the pleasure of the appointing authority.

City of Newburgh residency or City of Newburgh business ownership is a requirement to join.

Individuals who have knowledge and experience in areas such as: small and medium sized business ownership, banking/finance, urban planning, community development, real estate, housing, and hospitality are encouraged to apply.

Paper copies of the application are available in the office of the City Clerk at 83 Broadway, Newburgh, NY 12550. Applicants may submit a letter of intent in lieu of an application. The letter of intent must contain answers to the questions found in the application available online or in the office of the City Clerk.
