Spring 2022 Small Business Boot Camp

The Small Business Bootcamp returns to the City of Newburgh during the Spring of 2022 to provide the tools necessary for City of Newburgh Residents to start their own business. Aspiring entrepreneurs who attend all six classes will be eligible to receive a certificate of completion at the graduation and networking event on June 16, 2022.

The Small Business Bootcamp is a virtual entrepreneurial series partnership between the City of Newburgh and the U.S. Small Business Administration, taught by the Mid-Hudson Small Business Development Center, hosted by the Newburgh Free Library with a new partner, the Orange County Chamber of Commerce, NY.

The series will be offered through the Newburgh Free Library this spring and taught virtually by professionals with years of experience via Zoom conference.

Thursday, March 24 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. 

Session: Small Business Bootcamp - How to Start Your Own Business with Sam Kandel

This seminar provides students with a checklist for starting a small business and includes personal assessment.

 

Thursday, April 7 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Session: Turn your Hobby into a Business with Myriam Bouchard

Explore the steps to turn your dream into a reality and review how to: write a business plan, do financial projections, secure funding, test the market, develop a web presence, do marketing, and more.

 

Thursday, April 21 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.

Session: Do you Have an Appetite for a Food Business with Jean Morris

Learn a “soup-to-nuts” over-view of the process of the planning required to open a food establishment.

 

Thursday, May 5, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Session: Creating Connections with Melanie Richards

Explore questions to help you delegate or embrace opportunities when creating connections. Tailor which action steps fit your style, team or workplace culture. Learn five objectives to help expand your comfort zones while creating connections in person & online.

 

Thursday, May 19, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Session: Setting up Your Website/Online Store with Frank Corrao

This presentation will cover considerations and best practices when launching your business online.   From defining goals to best platforms to consider this session will cover all aspects of getting your business online.

 

Thursday, June 2, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Session: Branding Done Right with Kate Algera

Learn different things about branding and why a brand created with solid foundational research is such an impactful tool for your business.


The Graduation & Networking Event with the Orange County Chamber of Commerce will take place on Thursday, June 16 at 6:00 p.m. in-person at the Newburgh Free Library Plaza.
