City of Newburgh Recreation Walking Club

The City of Newburgh Recreation Department invites the community to join its latest program, the Walking Club.

The walking club is free and will meet every Monday and Friday, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Basketball Courtyard of Delano-Hitch Recreation Park.

Walking just 30 minutes a day or more is one of the easiest and least expensive ways to get active and improve your health. Frequent, brisk walks can boost brain power, increase productiveness and reduce a wide range of health risks. The walking club offers a wonderful way to exercise in a safe, outdoor space, get motivated, and meet new people.

COVID-19 protocols will be enforced, and participants are asked to bring a mask as well as maintain social distance while walking. Participants are reminded to bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothing and sneakers!

To join the club, register at the Activity Center, 401 Washington Street, Newburgh, NY 12550 or visit the Recreation Department’s website.

Contact Goldie Mercado at 845-569-7379 or e-mail at Gmercado@cityofnewburgh-ny.gov for more information.
