Lake Street Complete Streets

The Orange County Planning Department has hired Alta Planning and Design to create complete street design plans for targeted locations in two study areas under the Creating Healthy Schools and Communities Grant (a 5-year NYSDOH public health initiative.) These study areas will include an intersection and 1.3-mile corridor on Lake Street and Lake Drive in the City of Newburgh and a 1.3-mile corridor on Pike Street and Jersey Avenue in the City of Port Jervis.

The Newburgh Complete Streets project aims to increase connectivity between recreational opportunities, especially the Newburgh Armory Unity Center, improve access to multiple modes of transportation for all ages and abilities, and foster healthy lifestyles. The project focuses on Lake Street and Lake Drive.
