The Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) is constituted under Chapter 71 of the City Code and consists of nine members appointed by the City Council for two-year terms. The Committee shall consist of nine members, comprised as follows:
- Up to six residents of the City of Newburgh on the basis of their knowledge or interest in transportation and/or parking
- One representative of an agency or organization which represents and/or advocates for persons with disabilities
- Two City employees who are staff members of the City Departments of Engineering, Economic and Community Development and/or Public Works
The TAC is empowered by §71-1 of the City Code to develop and/or review needs assessments, transportation planning and policies, studies and projects, as well as ensure that parking, traffic and transportation goals and objectives developed in the forty-year sustainable Master Plan are met.
