The Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) is constituted under Article XIII of the City Code and consists of seven members appointed by the City Manager for seven-year terms, and two alternate members appointed by the City Manager for two-year terms. The City Manager designates the ZBA Chair from among its members.
The ZBA is an administrative body that reviews all applications seeking relief from decisions made by the Zoning Enforcement Officer (a.k.a. Building Inspector) as it relates to the use, placement of structures, off-street parking, and other such requirements for every parcel of land as required by the City of Newburgh Zoning Code.
