Draft Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan

A draft of the City of Newburgh Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan that provides general all-hazards management guidance, using existing organizations, to allow the City to meet its responsibilities before, during and after an emergency. Rental Dwelling Registry

Proposed legislation (Draft 6, 4/22) requires non-resident owners of rental properties to register rental dwellings with the city. Latest revision has admin fee only. A public hearing is scheduled for April 28, 7pm, at City Hall.

Vendors and Peddlers

An ordinance to replace the current Chapter 223 of the Code of the City of Newburgh, which pertains to vendors and peddlers, with a new Chapter 223 (rev. 4/22) also called Peddling and Soliciting. A public hearing is scheduled for April 28, 7pm, at City Hall.


Recently Adopted

The following measures were recently adopted by the Newburgh City Council:

East End Historic District Design Guidelines

On February 29, 2008, the City Council adopted an ordinance to amend Chapter 300 of the Code of the City of Newburgh with an updated set of Design Guidelines for the East End Historic District. East End Historic District Guidelines (PDF, 4.2 MB)

ARC Architect may be a Non-Resident

Ordinance 1-2008 modified Chapter 300-23 to allow the architect position on the Architectural Review Commission to be filled by an non-resident of the City of Newburgh.

Taxi Cab Regulations

On Feb. 25, 2008, the City Council adopted a new Chapter 272 on the regulation of taxi cabs in the City.

2008 Zoning MapZoning Regulations

On December 17, 2007, the City Council adopted an ordinance to include the addition of two R-2 (two-family residential) zones.
